Who would have thought that the high school sweethearts out of Collins High School would be winning over the whole of the CFB one day with their adorable exchanges? Whenever it’s about Travis Hunter, Leanna Lenee is always cheering the loudest for his fiancee. Continuing this, Lenee didn’t miss the opportunity to cheer for Travis Hunter as he hit another major milestone in his career: getting featured on the cover of the most awaited video game in the college football world ever, and that too as a center athlete.

She took to her Instagram stories to share the standard cover of EA Sports College Football 25 the moment it was released, captioning the post “So f*cking happy for you.” The cover featured Travis Hunter donning a charged-up expression, one that each football player has ahead of entering the gridiron, with Michigan RB Donovan Edwards on his right, and Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers on his left. The best part about Lenee’s story was the next story. Since EA Sports dropped the cover of their deluxe edition of the College Football 25 game, fans have been speculating Hunter to be on the standard cover as well. The deluxe cover had Carson Beck and Jalen Milroe additionally, other than the ones already present in the standard cover. Shockingly, Shedeur Sanders was ditched by the e-Sports giant, something that sparked some debates in the NCAA world. What sparked even more controversy in the NCAA world, however, was a Colorado player being on the cover of the game at all.

Travis Hunter gets criticism for shining on the cover

As soon as the standard cover got leaked, some fans were utterly disappointed with Travis Hunter getting featured as the center star on CFB 25’s cover. It all stems from the 4-8 record of Colorado from the previous season. “Absolutely no reason for Colorado to be on this cover,” the fans said on X, throwing barbs at Hunter from every possible angle.

While CU’s record was surely something Travis Hunter would not be too proud of, his performance surely is something that he is proud of. After all, he was honored with the Paul Hornung Award in 2023. This season would be the only shot Travis Hunter would have at redeeming himself of the previous season’s record and re-establishing himself as one of the finest players CFB boasts.
