Opportunity School, area businessman help families get Thanksgiving turkeys

Must read

The Opportunity School in Devola and an area businessman have been able to help 12 families involved with the school have turkeys for Thanksgiving.

“A gentleman found out there were 12 kids out here whose families wouldn’t be able to get Thanksgiving turkeys,” School Resource Officer Deputy Craig Brockmeier of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said. “He gave us the money and said, ‘Go buy turkeys.’”

The thanks go to Brady Rhodes of Rhodes Lawn Care Services in Belpre, Brockmeier said.

The Opportunity School is a part of the Ohio Valley Educational Service Center system, located in the former Putnam School.
