As the international break comes to its conclusion, the likes of Senegal, Morocco and Ghana will feature in Tuesday’s long list of Africa 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
To begin with, Bafana Bafana are hoping to make it two wins out of two in their initial set of World Cup qualifiers when they take on Rwanda Huye Stadium. South Africa head into their next game on the back of a 2-1 win over Benin, while Rwanda bagged a point in their 0-0 stalemate with Zimbabwe last week.
Then, reigning African champions Senegal will shift their focus onto Togo, with the two nations set to do battle at Stade de Kegue. The Lions of Teranga enjoyed a fruitful start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, recording a convincing 4-0 win over South Sudan this past weekend.
In another key fixture this week, Comoros will host Ghana at Stade de Moroni with the Black Stars looking to record their second win in the current window. Despite fielding a strong squad against minnows Madagascar, the Black Stars limped to a 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last week Friday.
Elsewhere, Morocco will finally get their WC qualifying bid up and running this week as the Atlas Lions prepare to take on Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium. The 2022 World Cup semifinalists were scheduled to face Eritrea in their opening fixture, however, their opponents withdrew from the Africa World Cup qualifiers as a whole.
