Doomben horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:53) Gallopers Sports Club Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Tricketeer @ $3.50

After two solid runs to date, Tricketeer looks ready to breakthrough for his maiden win.

The two-year-old son of Better Than Ready wasn’t far behind the winner last time out as the $1.50 favourite, and punters get better odds now.

Dropping to 54kg works in her favour.

Race 2. (13:28) Family Raceday 15 April BM90 (2200m)

#1 – Fast Talking @ $4.40

Fast Talking is getting close to posting another win after consecutive placings this preparation.

The eight-year-old has experience on his side, and he’s a two-time winner at Doomben, which bodes well.

It’s an open field and punters get each-way odds worth taking.

Race 3. (14:07) Ross Tinniswood Handicap (1615m)

#3 – Stuttering @ $4.20

Stuttering is classy at best, and his win three starts back at Eagle Farm is evidence of that.

The Robert Heathcote-trained gelding was a short margin behind the winner at Doomben last start, which is a track he enjoys.

Running with 55kg on his back adds to his appeal.

Race 4. (14:47) Sky Racing C3 Plate (1050m)

#7 – Mishani Sniper @ $7.50

Mishani Sniper capped off consistent form with a 2.3-length win at Ipswich last start, so he could remain in winning form.

The four-year-old son of Your Song has had two starts at Doomben without success, but he could turn that around.

Getting the inside draw is ideal, so take the each-way odds.

Race 5. (15:27) XXXX Dry BM78 (1350m)

#9 – Patton @ $5.50

Patton didn’t show his best form last time out, but he looked good winning at Doomben earlier this preparation.

The four-year-old gelding will need some luck from an outside draw but getting 1.5kg off his back drops him to 53.5kg.

We’re keen to take the each-way odds.

Race 6. (16:07) Cascade BM78 (1350m)

#11 – Argyle Pink @ $5

Argyle Pink is nearing a win after posting a second placing at Doomben last time out.

The four-year-old mare is overdue a winning turn following five winless starts, but she has enough ability to get back to winning form.

Dropping to 52.5kg helps, and she just needs luck from the draw to win.

Race 7. (16:43) Mekkafest 19 August Quality (1200m)

#11 – Spirit Queen @ $2.90

Spirit Queen scored well three back at Sunshine Coast before adding placings at Eagle Farm and Doomben.

The three-year-old filly was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner at Doomben, and she hasn’t done much wrong throughout her career.

Carrying 53kg is ideal, and that could be enough to see her win.

Race 8. (17:23) Stradbroke Season on Sale BM85 (1200m)

#6 – Manhood @ $2.40

Manhood is a speedy gelding after posting five wins and three placings from nine starts.

The four-year-old comes off an impressive win at Eagle Farm by a half-length, so that form checks out at Doomben.

Getting barrier two should allow him to find the front and kick.

Race 9. (18:00) Ladbrokes Market Control BM70 (1615m)

#4 – Magic Conqueror @ $11

Magic Conqueror is always around the mark at Doomben, with 18 starts for two wins and five placings.

The five-year-old gelding is also a three-time winner at the distance, so the statistics read well.

Larry Cassidy rides and punters get odds worth taking.
